What Gets Recorded on Site, and Why Each Item Earns Its Place
On site, the as-found condition is photographed with scale references, measured where geometry is in issue, and mapped so each observation ties back to the incident location. Moisture readings are taken where a wet condition is alleged, and the inspection is recorded so that another expert could follow exactly what was done.
Adjacent conditions are captured at the same visit because a surface rarely explains a fall in isolation: lighting, matting, drainage, traffic flow and sight lines all shape whether a hazard was reachable and whether it was perceivable. Where the surface has already been altered or replaced, the inspection establishes what can still be shown on site and the analysis leans correspondingly harder on the documentary record.
